Town of Huntsville

There is never a dull moment in the Town of Huntsville! TheTown, along with many organizations and businesses plan, coordinate and offer numerous community activities for its residents. From the fall activities at Muskoka Heritage Place to the Santa Claus Parade down Main Street in November, to Spring Community Clean up in April to the ever popular Fall Fair in September, residents enjoy the many activities the community has to offer. Huntsville is also very fortunate to have the numerous clubs and organizations that offer arts/culture, recreational/leisure and educational activities to the community.   • Huntsville was named after Captain George Hunt. He arrived in 1869 and settled on the east side of the Muskoka River.

  • In 1971, the Town was amalgamated with its nearby townships which extended its limits to include an area of 68,716 hectares including Arrowhead Provincial Park.
