The Huntsville Festival is a year round celebration of the performing arts featuring international, national and local artists representing a variety of musical genres in an eclectic mix that should offer ‘something for everyone’.
Celebrating its 20th season in this coming July and August, the Festival will present past Festival favourites such as Jim Cuddy, Jesse Cook, John McDermott and Marc Jordan and introduce rising stars such as jazz vocalist Sophie Milman and R&B singer Jully Black. Top Canadian artists like country star Michelle Wright and blues legends Downchild Blues Band will grace the Algonquin Theatre stage as well as world humanitarian Stephen Lewis, who is participating as part of the Festival’s Keynote Speaker Series.
The Huntsville Jazz Festival runs in the summer and features an international lineup including Buena Fe, one of Cuba’s most popular groups, and trumpet master Marcus Belgrave, a Louis Armstrong specialist.
All in all the summer promises to be another great celebration of the arts. Tickets are available through the Algonquin Theatre Box Office, by calling 705-789-4975 or online at www.huntsvillefestival.on.ca.
